The project involved replacing an old house and outbuildings with four modern bungalows. On top of onsite environmental improvements, the developer needed a further 1.1 biodiversity units to meet the 10% gain requirement.
Finding space for this much nature on a small housing site is difficult. On top of that, because Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) is a relatively new rule, the local council was still perfecting its process. This led to extra questions and technical hurdles that could have delayed the build.
BNG Partnership acted as the expert link between the developer and the council to keep the project on track.

By using our habitat bank, this project supports a professionally managed woodland and orchard. While nature takes time to grow, we are currently laying the groundwork for a thriving ecosystem:
"The team at BNG Partnership provided invaluable support when we hit roadblocks in the planning process. Their deep understanding of the new regulations and their hands-on approach allowed us to resolve complex queries that would have otherwise stalled our progress.
Having a partner who doesn’t just provide units, but actually walks you through the discharge of conditions, gave us real confidence. They simplified a difficult process and allowed us to focus on the build. We wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again."
